The raft

Our home for a couple of months this summer is called KEKS (which means cookie) and is self-made. The raft is based on a construction of wooden beams and boards on top of blue plastic barrels.

We’ll be living on the sun deck and if it is rainy we can back out into our cosy little shed. As we wanted to have a good night’s sleep we built two bunk beds. A guardrail prevents us from falling into the Danube.

KEKS has a 25 H.P. outboard motor which is linked to a stirring wheel by a wire rope.

We don’t really want to miss music and we guess that having light might be quite useful sometimes so we attached a car battery for switching on a lamp, having music and being able to charge cell phones and cameras…

Das Floß

Unser Zuhause für ein paar Monate heißt Keks und ist natürlich selbstgebaut.
Eine Holzkonstruktion mit dicken Balken und Brettern auf blauen Plastikfässern dient als Grundlage für unsere schwimmende Behausung.

Wir leben auf der Sonnenterasse und wenn es mal regnen sollte ziehen wir uns in die Hütte zurück. Zum Schlafen stehen uns zwei gemütliche Stockbetten zur Verfügung und ein Geländer bewahrt uns vor dem Sturz in die Donau.

Angetrieben wird Keksi von einem alten 25PS Außenborder der über ein Drahtseil mit dem Steuerrad verbunden ist.

Natürlich darf Musik nicht fehlen und auch Licht ist manchmal ganz hilfreich, deshalb haben wir eine Autobatterie mit angeschlossener Lampe, Musik und Steckdose zum laden von Handys, Kameras etc.
